I want I want

Throughout my experiences with Jesus I have noticed a certain trend with people when something bad or wrong happens. They claim to pray or have somebody in their prayers. I wonder sometimes if it's just a prostituted quote for the sake of saying it, or people generally mean it. Very interesting . . .

Jesus NEVER wants us to use him simply for a issues or struggles, He wants full submission of the heart. As soon as finances look bleak, a relationship break up, or even a death may lead to a person committing to Jesus. That is class and I shall never say I do not condone that. The point I'm making today is that Jesus is not your reliever of stress, or say a councillor. He is your LORD and SAVIOUR!

Jesus wants us to stick by him consistently by baring good fruit, rather than bad fruit. I just find it astounding that people ask, speak, and require Jesus when they want Him to make it better. But on the contrary when things are looking fine and dandy Jesus doesn't have a sniff in.

Time goes on and Jesus is always waiting for you to have a relationship with Him. His attributes are perfect, that is every single one. So to think that Jesus cannot provide better good times, feelings, and satisfaction than anything is nonsense. Isn't that disappointing to know that people refuse the best?

I know today has seemed a bit intense, short, and simply blunt but Jesus is the Prince of peace. Our lives and hearts are never at true peace unless we have a solid relationship with God who died for you.

The Real Me

Over the last month or so I have been recollecting about how much people have had negative comments and actions because I believe in Jesus dying for us. It is truly astounding to hear the sheer amount of  people who seem nice to me but want to say bad things about me? Interesting. . .

People are always going to have a problem that no matter what you do or say. It's even more eye opening to see how controversial Jesus was in the day 2000 years ago as well as today. Sometimes many can directly give you stick about following Jesus, others simply act fake and do it behind your back. Either way its a problem they hold. But they never had these things to say before? So now it means the problem is with Jesus? The very person who loved us all so much that he got beaten almost to death and nailed to a cross taking our sin? Even more so interesting! Either talk to God or to a Christian about it if there is a problem. No hostility should be handed out your way. How will you ever know more if you don't ask about it?

The point I' am writing about today is again identity issues, but more particularly what is the REAL me? Well lets start and see if I had to always act the same Rory to every kind of person. The answer seemingly is NO. Before I came to Jesus, I had to act so many different Rory's. Honestly I do not know how I kept up with my multiple personality disorder! And don't sit there reading this denying you ever feel like you do this. . . because EVERYBODY does!

Yes what you are reading is true. With my parents I could not use the language, talk about the stuff I did to say as I would my best mates. My teachers at school, I had to act completely different! It was literally like an acting career! To little children, I couldn't use foul language and do certain actions in which would effect them to maybe replicate in the near future. All of these different "beings," to please every person I could have encountered. Why couldn't I just be FREE by doing, saying, and feeling whatever I could. One problem. . . you can't simply do that 100% of the time. Furthermore, you hold different conversations to a 9 year old than to a 55 year old. It's simple. One cannot hold a conversation about topics that are simply out of their knowledge or understanding. But the real issue here is that it can be heavily reduced!

Who ever knew the REAL Rory? The answer is nobody! Not even my self knew because it changed so much.

Now that I have an extremely steady and stable being as a Christian. It is fabulous to literally no longer have to shift so frequently and rapidly to different temperaments. Your conscience isn't driving you wild reminding you to keep up to say and not to say certain thing, as well as do certain things. Christianity allows you to realise you are not perfect and the reason why we all have to shift "beings/state of minds," to please others. When the truth is that Jesus shows you He is the ONLY perfect person, so to be a CHRISTian makes you shadow His perfection and awesomeness. Over time He makes this evident in your life to others around you :)

Once a person receives Jesus in their heart and accepts that He died on a cross for their sins they don't have to keep trying to please the world. They don't have to keep switching who they are. They simply go back to their original identity, which is with Jesus. Frankly, one will mess up everyday and that's the beauty of faith. . . chasing God more and more. Christians aren't perfect, people think they're perfect but we are not until we die. But in Jesus' eye we are perfect because we are in His image and likeness again for accepting that truth already :)

The more people refuse, slate, bash, hate, turn from Jesus the same they shall be. Continual switching of how to be, continual change of how to talk. Doesn't that seem like nonsense? To be on edge the time hoping to not put to put a foot or two wrong? To have approval of the world, when we are not entirely sure whom possesses the best approval? Why not try Christ? Who gives you a free identity.

And that people is the REAL me! It could be the REAL you too! Trust me, I've tried being too many Rory's and it just don't cut it.

What's worth dying for?

Great apologies for not being on my blog for a number of days but I have been having a lot of alone time to discover God's plans in the near future.

After many events this week I have deeply looked and obeserved at my life and others. Just to see what people are really living towards, what are they trusting in, and what are they dying for? Once we die can we look back and truly say I had a clear devotion and path? Did I live a life that people shall miss my presence? It reminds me of Dorcas, a great lady in the book of Acts(ch9). She was deeply mourned and grieved over because heR presence was missed.
Are all the desires in our life truly worth our time and effort? Because at the end of the day, every second counts. I believe that many people across the world are lacking a reason worth dying for. It is quite evident in the way they live, convesations held, the struggles they have, and the lack of joy they possess.

Today I went for a run and afterwards I laid on my garden's, grass listening to this song by John Mark McMillan:-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK94p3hXVHQ And this is exactly what I was looking at:-(PICTURES>>> RIGHT).

Just listening, watching, and feeling this experience today, it is most comforting that God has made us all and in this photo,(which I saw). The fact that He thought WE were all worth dying for to remove the sin in our lives is amazing.

The blunt and challenging question I put across to you reading today is:- "Are you really living for something worth dying for?" If you feel a deep cutting sensation inside thats saying, "no," but you don't want to admit it. Simply admit it :) Jesus wants you to live a life that glorifies Him. He has been waiting your whole life for you to have a purpose. So once you die, there will be something that will have meaning, value, and an inheritance that lasts forever :)

God Bless. Jeremiah 29:11-15, Jeremiah 1:5.

God is Faithful ALWAYS

So I was walking to my lil spot in the village where I have my alone time with God tonight. I had to go there, too many things were bringing me down. I was extremely hurt, annoyed, and worried about many things. Just as I was in tears next to the church, I randomly opened my Bible and turned instantly to Isaiah 43. Now I knew a verse from there, 25 that about it. But the Lord showed my the first few verses. Baring in mind I was really in need of something from Him!

Here's what it said:-

Isaiah 43

Israel’s Only Savior
 1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
   he who created you, Jacob,
   he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
   I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
   I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
   they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
   you will not be burned;
   the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD your God,
   the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
[a] and Seba in your stead. 4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
   and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
   nations in exchange for your life.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
   I will bring your children from the east
   and gather you from the west.
6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
   and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar
   and my daughters from the ends of the earth—
7 everyone who is called by my name,
   whom I created for my glory,
   whom I formed and made.”
 8 Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,
   who have ears but are deaf.
9 All the nations gather together
   and the peoples assemble.
Which of their gods foretold this
   and proclaimed to us the former things?
Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right,
   so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”
10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD,
   “and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
   and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
   nor will there be one after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD,
   and apart from me there is no savior.
12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—
   I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.

Now, I don't know about you guys but my mouth dropped instantly and wept knowing that God assured me of His love for me. The same love He has for you, ALWAYS. His love has never ended, and His faithfulness is always present.

That whole 12 verses were EXTREMELY specific to my life, and even more so this evening. I just want to encourage you that when you have had it hard from situations and people, God still loves you. Don't run away from Him whilst He is running to you :)

Today I have been thinking a lot about change. It happens all the time, across the world in many ways. Change in the weather, transport, employment, home, friendships, hobbies, lifestyle. Time in itself is the course of change. The Earth is never at a stand still, it travels around 67,000 miles per hour! Change can be seen as good and bad. Many say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

To many people I may well have seemed to be living the "good life." In the top 2% wealthiest in the world. Studied in America on a football scholarship. Most of my family lived long and healthily. Daily necessitates are always met. Therefore change in lifestyle wouldn't seem necessary at all. Many living in the westernised culture of the 21st century like my self are seen as "good people."

Sadly the truth is nobody is a good person, only Jesus is and was! Once God revealed that truth to me, it took humbling myself and truly realising I was in deep trouble. . . a change needed to take place!

When Jesus died on the cross for us, and took all our filthy records/accounts of our lives there is salvation available. God can do the impossible, and people like myself that are generally the hardest to convince of this truth. We cannot see true hopelessness, there is hope in general welfare that satisfies our hearts. Thankfully now the Lord has made me right in His eyes, and change has taken place because of Jesus! He can do it to you too :)

2 Corinthians 5:17 states, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come." When the Holy Spirit comes around somebody who submits their heart, gives their life, and trusts in Jesus this change begins! :) You heart's desires change, things you saw as beneficial or fun. . God opens your eyes to show it never did truly satisfy. The sex, masturbation, drunkenness, drug taking, pride in sports, clubbing every week, idolising girls/sport/music they all led to an empty feeling after a short dose of pleasure.

Change happens when you have faith. It doesn't happen overnight, its a process . . . for eternity(Us getting closer or further away from God). Nobody can stay stagnant with God, you chase after or you fall backwards.

The change Jesus has produced in my life I will NEVER exchange for ANYTHING in the world. Sadly every day Myself and other Christians fall into sin. But the change that is happening over time is spiritual against our own flesh. The massive misconception of Christians is that they think they're perfect and judge. To be quite honest I wouldn't deny that as sadly that can happen and clarifies that we are not perfect! God sees us a perfect because Jesus gave us HIS perfect record :) Once we die in this life there will be no flesh to drag us down. Sin will not even be presentable to make us fall, THEN Christians will be perfect in Heaven. We are like flowers. . first God plants us as seeds. He then allows time with sun and watering to produce the flower to spring out of the ground. Leaves start to branch of, the stem grows larger and thicker. Best till last, beautiful petals radiate out. All a working progress of change.

I see and hear many different views about what people have to say about my life and change. Either way I honestly try to hold no grudges, its understandable. People can criticise and disrespect for banter value (cool, I've had worse in my life). I love you all. :) If somebody would have told me 2,3,4 years ago what would have happened to me I would have told them to do one/ are you on drugs!?! Don't be afraid to ask questions about life and change. :) Jesus has never stopped loving us, it's just class how he allowed me to realise it. I pray and hope all my family, friends, and strangers across the globe can too. Change is good concerning Jesus whether it be now and life after death. Come as you are He does the changing not you!

Don't refuse this great gift of change and be some weeds eventually to die, be uprooted, and thrown into fire. Be a beautiful flower that blossoms because of the sOn's radiating light, that will never die.

Just coincidences?

From time to time different occurrences happen, whether we think it to be spontaneous or not. You hear the sayings, "That was just once in a million," or "It's a small world," or even "what are the chances of that?"

To be quite honest we have people we meet and places we end up being, all for a reason. I have even used the phrase of, "there is a reason for everything." Many believe this simply by chance, and chance alone. After realising the miracles Jesus has done through moments as described above, it is clear He is in control. It is mind blowing to think that God Himself is pulling the strings, however it definately makes sense when you think He made everything around us to even be possible!

I can name plenty of examples of where God has been evidential in my life in terms of divine interventions. Most brilliantly my salvation alone is the best and craziest. I thought my 4 year journey to America would be to end up playing football(soccer), irregardless of obtaining a degree or not! There was not much care in terms of a life goal than making it big time. . . God had other plans! After the end of my 3rd year, and after much sin/lack of direction/and lukewarmness in Christianity, God finally SAVED me. After 21 years of lies, 21 years of scaffolding climbing to meet my Father, Creator, and Saviour the biggest and best "coincidence," of my life happened!! :)

All of the near death experiences I have had and mistakes made God knew exactly that one day I would wake up. I believe this is truly possible for many, and whoever is reading this today. Is it even coincidence you are reading this blog? Is there something inside of you interested/tasty for God? If so never run away from it! :) Give Him a chance, because every day He always gives you a second chance with life in itself to come to Him. Jesus forgives ALWAYS.

Wingate University, NC, USA- Salvation, Elevation Church- Home&Ministry, Wingate University- Friendships for life and eternity, Shelby Baucom, Monroe, NC, USA- future ministry, Mike Stiner, Detroit, Michigan- Elevation Global Coordinator , (met in London today[ironically as I was in the City]), Tim Friend& Wife Kerstin Friend, Met at village church randomly for his speech on sport ministry.

^ABOVE^ are just few of MANY examples of divine appointments that in themselves have long stories, and many more to come. God has placed you in places and with people for a reason; some good and some bad. At the end of the day we have to look past this mere sense of "chance," and REALLY look into WHY that person is in my life? To grow and move on, to love and stick, to learn and never attempt again. . . the list is endless. There is NO coincidence, its an arrow, a sign post. The direction is simple-----------------> Jesus :) (REPENT, literally means to turn away from your sin, 180 to Jesus).

Psalm 119:105, "Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path."
Romans 8:28, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
